This spectacular mountain property at 1800m above sea level in the National Park with unbeatable views.
There are 4 buildings. The main house is livable on 2 floors – ground area of 70m²; although habitable, will benefit from updating. The lower floor has two bedrooms and in-between the bedrooms is a kitchen/diner with a fireplace & the upper floor is open plan. The building closest to the main house is used as a shower room fitted with a septic tank, toilet, shower, sink and has a gas water heater installed. Only half of this house has been put into use.
There are another 2 ruins of 130m² and another which is 5 minutes walk away of 100m² with a threshing circle in front. The land is 70 ha / 700.000m² / 173 acres of mainly holly oaks / black oaks & deciduous oaks (these oaks survived the mass tree felling when building the Spanish Armada), plus 2 mature apple trees & 5 young walnut trees in front of the main livable house. It has 70.000 m² of farming land with lots & lots of water – 5 water springs and 4 water pools. As in the National Park, no wires are allowed so one has to rely on alternative energy; this can be solar, wind, water, and generator. One can only renovate the existing buildings. All the houses & ruins are registered in the deed.
Access has to be by 4 x 4, half hour from the main road up the mountain. The closest village is Órgiva at 45 minutes’ drive away. It enjoys the most spectacular views – on clear days one can see the Atlas Mountains in Africa and there is always the presence of the Sierra Nevada Mountains; in the winter months can be snowed in for a short period. A property which is hard to come by of its kind. Amazing opportunity for a retreat.
